I dated this man I'd just met for a couple of months. He seemed emotionally mature. He has had long-term relationships. He talked w/ me while we were dating about how he had a friend who like him and he was worried about leading her on, so he made sure to have a conversation about it w/ her to clear things up.

I'm confused. Would you guess he's still attracted to me and keeping options open? Is he aware he's sending mixed signals? Should I ask him something? If so, what?

dating around the holidays can be a bit tricky. do you give a gift to someone you are dating provided you are still dating to each other during the holidays? what if you haven't been dating that long and you both are dating other people as well?

If you are dating someone, it is expected to exchange gifts. If it is someone you have dated , but are no longer dating, you may still give them a gift if you feel that you want to do something nice for the person and can afford it. I am sure the other person will appreciate your kind gesture.

this is best discussed as an issue between the two people. i would not exchange gifts with somebody i was only dating.
do what you feel is the right thing to do. I mean, if there's a guy you like, and you both enjoy some activity, like going to movies or rock climbing or eating at a particular restaurant, why not a gift certificate for that activity? If you can afford it, buy a little gift for all the guys - if you're not sure about giving, wait until they give you a gift, then give them yours!
A gift is acceptable but it shouldn't be too extreme or too expensive... you never know if you'll be with them too long after (unless your relationship is going well and you've been dating for quite some time).
gift giving shouldn't have any strings attached, if they don't realise it's just a gift might be best to move on

This girl that I started dating 2 months ago only lasted a week. Many issues between us, I'll leave it at that. We keep talking for two months and she had been talking with a guy from Iraq for 8 months. The guy from Iraq got back to the U.S. about a month and half ago. Wow, that was a long story, to tiring to read, now i'm out of my mind. You what? Ask her straight if what she wants with you and what she wants with the other guy, you cant just sit there and think of what she;s doing, unless you want to be stupid. If she is honest she will tell you. And put a little gap between you two, let her think and realised what she really wants and who. Besides, there's a lot of girls there you can find one soon, that is really for you without any questions or hassles.
Honestly, I think you have yourself in a very awkward and uncomfartable situation. If I were you, I would sit her down and have her make a decision. Put your feelings right out on the table so she knows how much this is bothering you, but also put your feelings toward her on the table also. Make sure that she knows that you care enough to be the bigger person in this and let her make the decision instead of just leaving her high and dry and asking questions. The reason I say this is because you dont want to be made to look like a fool. If you let her continue with this other guy she may very well come back and say that has changed her mind and wants to be with him and not you. I am a woman and I dont even feel it is right to carry on a relationship with two different men, serious or not, unless you specify your intentions to both of them.

Hello I have dated men that I have met through a couple of dating sites. As time goes on I find they really arent serious. Why do men post online personnals unless they are seeking a lasting relationship. The ones I have dated are usually about 45 minutes away and not local since my area doesnt have too many good single men or they dont use online services. I just dont understand why a person would pay for a dating service then see the one they are dating once a week. I undestand work and family obligations but I want a serious companion. The bad thing is that I am being told daily that I am the one they want to be with but I want more than words I want action and a long lasting partner that I can bound with. Dating? How do you do it?

Ok, this is probably going to sound weird, but I need to give you some background info about me first, before I ask the question. I am a 40 year old divorced female with a 15 year old daughter. I have been divorced since 1994 (13 years), was married for 6 years after dating for 3 yrs. During the time since my divorce, I spent the first couple of years just trying to get on my feet by working alot. Then I decided to go back to school, which I did, and after 9 years of college, I now have my Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology and my Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. During that 9 years I worked part time as well as going to school, and I tried to provide a stable home life for my daughter (and our pets). But I have not had a relationship in all that time. In fact, I only had a couple of blind dates about a year after the divorce, and then a couple a dates with a friend a couple of years go. So, how do I find dates, and how do you date? They are dates. You aren't marrying them and if you aren't comfortable don't ever have to see them after the date.

After my hiatus, I kept my first dates to 60 minutes for coffee. After 50-100 1st dates (I lost track) I had a few 2nd dates. One of those turned into 300+ dates.
