Why does dating seem so complicated? ...continued?

I'm new to the dating scene and I am just now putting myself out there (so to speak). I don't know what the heck I'm doing. I'm in college and I feel that I should have some what of an idea, but I don't. I'm not dating anyone right now. I am, however, trying to get to know this guy via conversation. At first I thought it was: get to know the person, one person asks the other person out, then there is the first date. But, thanks to ppl around me, it seems like it goes like this: Find someone U like, get to know the basics (name, age, etc.), then go on dates to find out if U like them. HOWEVER, going on those dates doesn't mean you're dating.

That's confusing.

Plz help.

Just take your time and do things at your own pace. 1.first determine what it is you really want.2.then determine who your really looking to date.3. it is okay to ask a person your interested in out. Make a plan a head of time of things YOU like to do to have fun. Then enjoy them as you normally would on your date.

Dating is not complicated. And there is no right way to go about it. Some people are friends for a long time, then slowly become more. Other jump right into it. Sometimes it works for both of these types sometimes it doesnt. But one thing seems to be true, even tho it is easier to just jump right into something, and get all lovey dovey on eachother, it usually leads to someone getting really hurt. Why these relationships dont work as often as the others, I do not know. But that seems to be the reality of it. Just do what feels normal to you. One way or the other you are going to find someone who likes it, and goes along with it all the way. Do your thang lady.
Dating is probably one of the most fearful things anyone can face in their life. It seems hard, but when you think about it, it is not complicated at all. Yes, it is true that I would probably to know the basics. Like, I think it might be helpful if I'm 14 that I would know if I was dating a Helga who is 89 and looking for a reckless night. ( not pointing out names here *cough cough* ) But, heres what I would do.

- Get to know what side you and people like best. Sweet or Sexy. Then, find out how to act that side. Then, you go for it. Ask him/her out once you know the details! If all goes well, you should have a steady relationship going. If not, theres plenty of fish in the sea! Good Luck!
